Up to 1 thousand Belarusian tractors are planned to be assembled in Altai Territory

The authorities are now looking into the issues and prospects of assembling the tractors of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTP) in Altai Territory of the Russian Federation. The decision on this issue will be taken within a month. “Up to 1 thousand Belarusian tractors are planned to be assembled in Altai Territory,” reported Deputy Governor of Altai Territory Yakov Ishutin to journalists in Minsk.

The authorities are now looking into the issues and prospects of assembling the tractors of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTP) in Altai Territory of the Russian Federation. The decision on this issue will be taken within a month. “Up to 1 thousand Belarusian tractors are planned to be assembled in Altai Territory,” reported Deputy Governor of Altai Territory Yakov Ishutin to journalists in Minsk.

The Deputy Governor also noted that the area where the production is to be organized is in a rather difficult economic situation with a high rate of unemployment. MTP assembly enterprise will make it possible to improve the situation in the region.

Altai Territory buys a lot of Belarusian farm and road-building machinery and plans to continue such cooperation. In the last three years the territory has purchased the machinery to the sum of RUB 11 billion. Half of this volume is the share of Belarusian producers including MTP, MAZ and “Amkodor”. Besides that, Altai Territory plans to buy logging complexes in Belarus.

“We also pay attention to the necessity to process pharmaceutical produce together with Belarus,” said Yakov Ishutin. Moreover, Altai Territory is ready to supply Belarus with diesel engines, injectors and pharmaceutical products.
