Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Removed Restrictions on Deliveries of Three Belarusian Enterprises

As is confirmed by the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has lifted restrictions on the deliveries of goods produced by three Belarusian enterprises.

The press service noted that “accepting guarantees of Belarusian veterinary service concerning the safety of foodstuffs produced by public corporation “Brestski myasokombinat” (Brest meat processing and packing plant), public corporation “Kopylski maslosyrzavod” (Kopyl creamery) and overseas enterprise “INKO-FOOD” limited liability corporation, Rosselkhoznadzor saw fit to lift earlier imposed restrictions on deliveries of foodstuffs produced by these enterprises to Russia.

It should be noted that earlier this information was voiced by Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food Semion Shapiro. In particular, at the board meeting that took place in Minsk he said that on 27^th May, 2009 “Belarusian manufacturer of meat products “INKO-FOOD” obtained a permit to resume deliveries of its produce to Russia.

He specified that the list of Belarusian enterprises that are allowed to import their produce to Russia also includes public corporation “Kopylski maslosyrzavod” (Kopyl creamery), “Brestski myasokombinat” (Brest meat processing and packing plant) and communal unitary enterprise “Vetkovski molochny zavod” (Vetka dairy).

We would remind you that these enterprises were entered in the list of certified ones after Belarusian veterinary services had provided indispensable guarantees. They “ensure further deliveries of livestock produce to the Russian Federation in accordance with Russian veterinary-sanitary specifications and norms”. “Belarusian party has also taken extra measures aimed to increase control of the livestock products manufactured”.

As was noted by the representatives of the chief directorate of veterinary medicine of Minselkhozprod, deliveries of “INKO-FOOD” products to Russia were stopped on May 23^rd 2008, while “Kopylski maslosyrzavod” (Kopyl creamery) and “Brestski myasokombinat” (Brest meat processing and packing plant) discontinued their deliveries in April 2009. “Vetkovski molochny zavod” (Vetka dairy) wasn’t listed among certified enterprises in the past.

On the whole, according to Minselkhozprod at present 117 Belarusian enterprises including 54 milk processing and 42 meat processing ones, 19 poultry factories and 2 fish processing enterprises have the right to import their produce to Russia.
