The Government resign was reported by the PM of the country Zinaida Grechanaya at the eve of August, 26th at the end of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. However official statement is to be made by her at the first meeting of the new elected Parliament, that will take place On August, 28th. Parliament should resign and entrust the government on behalf of Grechanoy the duties before the formation of new Cabinet of Ministers.

At the last meeting of the government the Minister of Economy and Trade and Vice Premier Igor Dodon made a report on social and economic situation in the country, underlying the economic growth for the period of Communist party being in power. Afterwards Grechanaya thanked the acting President Vladimir Voronin that was present at the meeting for his “wise experience of executive power”, writes Internet resourse Lenta.ru.

Grechanaya became the PM in March, 2008. Her government was to resign already in May, 2009 after parliamentarian elections. At the same time communists picked Grechanaya to run for president of the country. However her nomination wasn’t approved for Voronin’s party was not represented in the parliament with the appropriate number of deputies, and the rest political forces refused to support Grechanaya.

After Moldaviam parliament failed to choose the president there were held the second elections. In accordance with the results the Communist party received 48 mandates and four opposition parties that united in the coalition were given 53 mandates. Election of the president of Moldavia requires the support of 61 deputies.
