Creation of a Common Economic Space (CES), signing of relevant basic documents by the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia is one of the most important events in post-Soviet Area, stated Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov in an interview with TV channel “Russia-24”.

“The tasks, range of problems and challenges to be solved were very ambitious. And we should bear in mind that in 2010 the relations between all the countries of the Customs Union were not so rosy. Therefore, I would call the results we have achieved extraordinary,” said the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

Karim Masimov expressed confidence that this integration association will profit all countries and peoples of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. “We’ll feel it before long,” he assured. He also noted that all the basic documents concerning the creation of the Common Economic Space have already been signed. Now they are a subject to parliamentary ratification in the three countries.

“Now the question is not whether we can or cannot. We have set such a high standard that this mechanism is simply obliged to start working. But it is the political will of the supreme leaders which is needed to bring the creation of the CES to a conclusion so that people could benefit from it,” summarized Karim Masimov.
