R.Otunbaeva is authorized president of Kyrgyzstan

The chairperson of the temporary government of Kirghizia Rose Otunbaeva is authorized president of Kyrgyzstan. She will be the head of the country during the transitional period finishing on the 31 of December 2011. The corresponding decree was approved by the temporary government of Kirghizia, Ria Novosti reports.

It was reported before that in the end of the June a referendum on the new constitution should take place. Meanwhile the coordinator of the temporary government Elmire Ebroimova noted that the population will decide if Rose Otunbaeva will remain the president for year and a half.

2012 in Kirghizia the election of the new president should take place. Meanwhile the head of the temporary government won’t be a candidate. At the same time Elmire Ebroimova added that it is a “question of principle which is under discussion.”

Let us remind at the beginning of the April 2010 the coup took place in Kyrgyzstan resulting in the resignation of the government. The president Kyrmanbek Bakiev left the country. The power was taken by the temporary government created by the opposition.
