Union Parliamentarians to Discuss Patriotic Education in Tver

A meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Security, Defence and Crime Control will be held in Tver on March 18th, 2010. On the same day the chairperson and members of the committee will meet the leaders of Tver region.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Security, Defence and Crime Control will be held in Tver on March 18^th, 2010. On the same day the chairperson and members of the committee will meet the leaders of Tver region.

Representatives of ministries and departments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, authorities of Tver region, representatives of Belarusian and Russian Suvorov Military Schools and Moscow Cadet Corps were also invited to participate in the meeting of the Committee.

The main topic for discussion is a system of patriotic education of the rising generation in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation: place, role and tasks of public authorities and public organizations of Belarus and Russia in upbringing patriots of the Fatherland. Representatives of Russian and Belarusian Suvorov Military Schools will share the experience in military-patriotic as well as spiritual and moral education of the youth that was accumulated in Suvorov military schools, cadet corps (schools, boarding schools) of Belarus and Russia.

Union parliamentarians are to sum up the military-patriotic session “Rising Generation of Defenders of Fatherland” that was held for the students of Suvorov Military Schools and Nakhimov Naval Academy of Belarus and Russia in 2009. They will also discuss the problems of organizing and holding such session in 2010 and later on.

Besides that, members of the Committee will consider the issues related to preparing and holding of a video bridge Moscow – Minsk in April 2010 devoted to the 65^th anniversary of the Great Victory as well as of a meeting of the standing seminar on formation of the Union State which is organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union between Belarus and Russia.

While in Tver, deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly and participants of the meeting are planning to visit Tver Suvorov Military School, meet its senior personnel, visit school’s museum as well as get acquainted with school’s traditions and conditions of the learning process.
