Belarus and Karelia: new impetus to all round cooperation

On 11 November, during the visit of an official delegation from the Republic of Karelia to Belarus, a Protocol was signed indicating the activities for 2014-2015 in order to develop cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Karelia of the Russian Federation. The document was signed by Alexander Khudilainen, the Head of Karelia, and Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Russia may postpone a ban on EU potato imports

Russia may postpone the introduction of a ban on potato imports from the EU. This issue was discussed at a meeting on 15 November between Sergey Dankvert, the Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor), and his colleague from the EU in Germany, as reported by Dankvert’s assistant, Alexey Alexeenko, at a press conference on Friday.
