Tver State Technical University to cooperate with Belarusian National Technical University
The 9th International Conference on Social, economic and ecological problems in the mining, construction and energy industries took place in Minsk between 29 and 31 October. The Conference was held at the main technical university of Belarus – the Belarusian National Technical University. The Conference was attended by scientists from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Kazakhstan, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan and other CIS and non-CIS countries.

Representatives of the Russian-Belarusian Business Council visit the Promburvod Plant
On 29 October 2013 a delegation from the Russian-Belarusian Business Council (RBBC) visited the Promburvod Plant. The delegation was headed by Boris Kirilov, the Executive Director of the RBBC and Vice President of Novikombank. Alexey Kubrin, the Deputy Secretary of the Union State and member of the RBBC, was one of the members of the delegation.

Ancient Castles of Belarus
There are about one hundred castles in Belarus today. We started our ‘castle tour’ in Grodno. The 12 – 17th centuries buildings were used as defensive structures but over time the fortresses have fallen into disrepair or been destroyed. The Government of Belarus has adopted a programme of restoration and reconstruction of historical buildings.

Belarus increases the price of gas, electricity and thermal energy for the population

Belarus is interested in direct investment by China
Belarus is interested in direct investments from China. Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus announced this in Minsk when he met with Men Jianzhu, a member of the Permanent Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the CPC Central Committee and member of the State Council of China.

New minimum consumer budgets operate in Belarus from 1 November
Belarus has set new minimum sizes for the consumer budgets of the primary social and demographic groups in line with the average per capita and per family-member income of different structure. It is based on average prices in September 2013. This decision is provided by Regulation No. 103 of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
