On March 19, Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Resolution No. 1 “On the State Secretary of the Union State”.
As stated in the message posted on the official website of the President of Belarus, by this Resolution Grigory Rapota was relieved of his post as State Secretary of the Union State.
Dmitry Mezentsev, who until now was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus, was appointed to the post of State Secretary.
In addition, as stated in the message, on March 19, Directive No. 1 was adopted on the announcement of gratitude to Grigory Rapota for his significant contribution to the development of the Union State.
Dmitry Fedorovich Mezentsev is a statesman and diplomat. He was born in Leningrad in 1959, his biography is filled with bright pages. After graduating from the Institute of Railway Engineers in 1981, he worked as a foreman at the Baltic depot of the October Railway. For several years he was a freed Komsomol worker, then served as an officer in the Soviet army in the army press.
