In the next few years the proportion of expenditure on healthcare in Russia, expressed as a percentage of GDP, will be reduced from 3.7% in 2013 to 3.3% of GDP in 2016, according to a draft outline of budgetary policy for next three years, seen by RIA Novosti.

Feeding stuff and proteinaceous raw materials imported from Russia are undergoing strict controls in Belarus. This was reported at a press conference given by Vasily Pavlovsky, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. He indicated that the cases of African swine fever (ASF) registered in Russia and Belarus were the reason behind the checks on materials used to produce animal-feed, being carried out by experts from the Veterinary and Food Control Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. There are certain types of feed intended for particular purposes which the cattle-breeding industry cannot do without.

The Belgasprombank Open Joint-Stock Company and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed a new agreement under which a credit facility of USD 10,000,000 has been opened to enable the Belarusian bank to provide finance to micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. From 1 July seven new Customs Union general technical regulations on food products, and on some individual types, have come into force. The new regulations have been established by an understanding across the Customs Union countries: savings on health are irrational. However, that the regulations do not relate to soft food goods, has induced candid antagonism. In Belarus, even weakly integrated entrepreneurs have found a way to demonstrate a certain solidarity, not only in competition for their sales markets and for their customers but also against this “simplest” of the Customs Union technical regulations. However the concern of the business community has proved to be justified to a certain extent.
