Belarusians and Russians race from Gatchina (Leningrad Region) to Minsk
A patriotic relay race, dedicated to the heroic battle of the tank crews under the command of Zinovy Kolobanov, is being held in the Union State. The 28 runners set off from Gatchina on 19 August.

Atoms for peace in Belarus
A licence to build the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian NPP could be granted before the end of August. Olga Lugovskaya, the Head of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Emergency Control Ministry (GosAtomNadzor), reported this during today’s online conference, hosted by BELTA, as she answered a question related to previous reports in the media indicating that the licences may be issued before 15 August.

Evgeny Steblov: About awards, books and love
Evgeny Steblov is a wonderful actor, known to millions since the filming of Daneliya's lyrical comedy “Walking the Streets of Moscow”. Today Evgeny Yurievich Steblov is a People’s Artist of Russia. He is also a professor at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia and a teacher at the GITIS Academy. Moreover, Steblov is a member of the Expert Jury for the Union State Awards.

Ukraine offers to cast the “Victory Bell”
Ukraine has offered to cast the “Victory Bell” to commemorate the 70th anniversary (in 2015) of the notable 9th of May ‘Victory Day’. The idea was voiced by Alexender Vilkul, the Vice Premier of Ukraine, at the “The memory lingers on”, International Conference of Historical and Research Groups of the CIS countries held in Kiev in the beginning of April.

We need to unlock our potential

Each city has its own symbols, or brands, as they are called it today. In Vitebsk, Belarus, there are two brands - Mark Shagal and the "Slavianski Bazaar". It is unsurprising that this city, situated on the Dvina River, is called the cultural capital of Belarus, and visit to look, for themselves, at the streets depicted in world famous paintings and to visit one of the most prestigious art fairs in Europe. This year the fair took place between 11 - 15 July.

“Don’t go away, please stay with me…” cajoled Alexander Malining as he sang at the "Slavianski Bazaar” in Vitsebsk. As always, the public here was kind to the artist!. However there was no mysterious transformation, warming to the lives of others during the concert. The words of Stanislavsky “I don’t believe it” were be suitable for the occasion. The tragedy of life revealed by the great song turned into kitsch.
