The Customs Union has increased import duties on pipe layers from 5% to 10% of their customs value. The Eurasian Economic Commission press service stated that this decision had been taken by the Commission’s Board.

The outlook expressed by the Russian press for the Russian economy has recently grown quite pessimistic. Many analysts assume that there is recession in the economy. Economists from the international research company Capital Economics Ltd are saying that following the results of the first half of this year the Russian economy has fallen into recession, and the actions taken by the authorities to promote and sustain economic growth will have an effect no earlier than next year.

A licence to build the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian NPP could be granted before the end of August. Olga Lugovskaya, the Head of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Emergency Control Ministry (GosAtomNadzor), reported this during today’s online conference, hosted by BELTA, as she answered a question related to previous reports in the media indicating that the licences may be issued before 15 August.

23 buses manufactured at the Minsk Automobile Plant have been supplied to Irkutsk. The vehicles are: 13 MAZ 206 buses and 10 MAZ 103 buses (with Mercedes engines) which conform to the Euro-4 and Euro-5 ecological standards respectively.
