Belarus has restricted imports of poultry meat from India, China and the Netherlands. BELTA has learned this from the Veterinary and Food Control Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

In the first half of the year forecast balances of supply and demand of 106% were noted for Union State dairy products

In the first half of 2013 the export of milk and dairy products from Belarus exceeded the export volume in the same period of the previous year by 21.5%. Currently milk and dairy products form 38% of all agricultural exports from the country. In the period from January to June the export of these products (1,800,000 tonnes) from Belarus totalled more than USD 1 billion. That is 35.8% more than the export volume in the first half of 2012. This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.

He is also a professor at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia and a teacher at the GITIS Academy. Moreover, Steblov is a member of the Expert Jury for the Union State Awards.

Sharp increase in excise duties on motor fuel expected in Belarus in 2014

The excise duty on motor fuel may rise 2.4 to 3-fold in 2014. The proposal for a sharp increase in excise duty is contained in the draft Law on ‘Amendments to the Taxation Code’ prepared by the Ministry of Finance, as reported by the BelaPAN news agency.

Trading Volume Rose by 31% at the Belarusian Commodity Exchange in the first half of the year

The number of transactions at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange increased by 31% in the period from January to June 2013, as against the same period in 2012. The sum of all the transactions amounted to USD 924.6 million (RUR 7,997.6 billion). The customer database of the Exchange is also increasing. Currently, over 12,400 companies (among which about 2,700 companies are nonresidents from 56 countries worldwide) conclude transactions at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange.

Since the beginning of the year drug enforcement agents of the Ministry of the Interior of Belarus have confiscated 20 kg of smoking drugs distributed through the internet. This represents approximately 2 million doses, as reported by the Ministry of the Interior.

National Electronic Road Toll Collection System started commercial operations in Belarus on 1 August

The National Electronic Road Toll Collection System started commercial operations in Belarus on 1 August. The system had been under construction since the end of 2012. In that time, Kapsch, an Austrian investor, had installed 56 payment stations and monitoring stations throughout the entire toll road system, additionally opening 48 client service outlets as well as two modern data processing centres. It has also supplied 500,000 onboard units to Belarus.
